[Autumn 2015] This sketch is about beginning to process the idea of massacre. I was really affected by the story of a body which had been found lying over a threshold of one of the houses in the archaeological castle site, now a field inside a broken Iron Age wall. I took a door from my house and put it on the threshold of this house. I invited the archaeologist who had recovered the body during one of the excavations – Ludvig Papmehl-Dufay – to meet performance artist – Helle Kvamme – at the door. There they performed an improvised ‘meeting’ where I took photo images on Helle’s camera, some of which I later distorted. A slide show of these images with a piano improvisation resulted in a short film. This film was requested to be linked to the experimental heritage website. I notice that not everyone likes it; please remember, I am not a marketing expert making a product for a consumer to ‘like’ or ‘not like’ or auditioning for the X factor. I am processing ideas through sketching sensitive and difficult matters from history that I am suggesting continue to affect us now, which has nothing to do with pandering to an audience. This particular series of sketches resulted in a YouTube presentation which lasts about 11 minutes.
